bio: living organisms and their vital processes - ponic: working together
bioponic: organisms working together in natural life processes for the benefit of the living
Initiating within the US, Bioponic World Foundation's mandate is to establish 'local sustainable hubs' worldwide that 'direct connect' surrounding communities to their own source of clean, optimized, water and food; production powered by alternate energy.
Whole system designed for optimal self-sufficient operation they are also demonstration, education, instruction sites. A community food source, business, and sustainable. Hubs are community assets.
Specific demographic and climate considerations accounted for ensures environmental harmony and synergistic application of available resources, i.e., community assets. Sites demonstrate a whole system in process with the combinations of open-air and facility food, fiber production; permaculture, aquaponic, hydroponic; soil, water, alternate energy, resource conservation and optimization technologies and systems; all working together in service to a population's sustainable directive.
Projects are collaborative endeavors involving foundation specialists who design, produce and manage, in combination with; local expertise, organizations, groups, individuals, grantors, and other provider/collaborator input. When a hub is fully established - operational responsibility shifts to the community. The foundation retains the stewardship of a site's instruction/educational function/program; thus fulfilling its commitment to provide locals with a 'sustainable living' model, education, career training, and placement. In regard to professional training; particular focus is paid to the displaced, disabled, disenfranchised as our future food producers.
In collaborative combination with other course producers, i.e., colleges, organizations, etc., and shared access to educational resources, these locations and organizations become the source connected 'collaborative educational network'. This network supports and sustains the student and that which has been built and established; our source connected, self-reliant future.
